What's up with Starcraft 2?
Now, I hate to disappoint but I'm sorry to say that I have nothing to report today. Rather I put the microphone in your hands, reader, and I ask you to report to me. My topic today is simple and I'm very interested in hearing what my readers have to say. Simply put: What's up with Starcraft 2? I don't understand. What makes this game so great. What's all the hype for?

It's the sequel to the most popular eSports game known, that's what all the hype is about. And the game itself is good.
ReplyDeleteHowever, Blizzard has also done some things which will negatively impact the later state of the game when people get tired of ladder and move on to playing custom games. Most mappers know about it, but the casual players who will be playing our maps are somewhat oblivious.

ReplyDeletestarcraft nails the "easy to learn, hard to master" dynamic. gives it a whole lot of longevity while remaining accessible for a very large player base.

ReplyDeleteI would say don't until they fix some major issues with the game, which to me seems like a blatant slap in the face to the entire community. A loss of money just needs to be shown and they'll crack, just like what happened with RealID.
